Outside the bidding of A-Road / J-Low Mets, Cohen is ready to buy amid reports


Amid reports that the Wilpan family is finalizing a deal with billionaire hedge fund manager Steve Cohen, former major league star Alex Rodriguez and fianc જે Jennifer Lopez are backing a bid to buy the New York Mets.

Rodriguez announced Friday night that his group was pulling its pull fur “despite an offer to provide full funding at a record price”.

The consortium said they were disappointed not to be part of the New York City revival and to provide a joyful experience for fans and wished the Wilpon family and the entire Mets organization well, “the celebrity couple said in a statement.

Media reports on Friday night said Cohen had held final talks and the deal with the team is expected to be finalized in the coming days. The Mets declined to comment.

Cohen also negotiated to buy the Mets last year, but the deal fell apart in February. The hedge fund manager bought an 8 million limited stake in 2012 for 40 million. The deal under discussion would have seen an 80% controlling stake in the deal, valued at ટી 2.6 billion for the team, and Wilpins would have remained stable for five years.

Rodriguez and Lopez emerged as potential buyers after Cohen’s first negotiations broke down.
