Oklahoma State Soccer Star Chuba Hubbard He says he is shutting down his Twitter account after receiving a backlash for calling the Oklahoma County District Attorney … but the RB insists he will continue to use his platform to lobby for social justice.
Hubbard, 21, one of the best college runners in the country, asked DA David prater resign on Monday after he claimed the guy “overshot his position.”
Hubbard, along with many others in Oklahoma, is upset with Prater: They believe Prater should have brought charges against the police officers who killed a 17-year-old. Isaiah Lewis in a tragic arrest attempt in 2019.
But, when Prater withdrew the officers, people protested … and when protesters were arrested for expressing outrage, Prater’s office hit them on terrorism charges.
This did not work well with Hubbard, who fired off a series of tweets criticizing the guy for the moves.
“OK County District Attorney David Prater is abusing his power as an elected official to charge First Amendment protesters with terrorism and a ONE MILLION dollar bail,” said Hubbard. “This is unacceptable.”
But, Hubbard’s tweets were met with a strong reaction on the popular app … and on Tuesday, Chuba said he was deleting his Twitter account so that people would not have a way to unleash their hatred against him.

“I never incited or promoted violence or hatred,” said Hubbard. “All I have done is express my opinion on issues that I feel are unethical! I love them all! Even those who disagree with me!”
“I will keep playing soccer at the highest level! That will never stop! But I will also not stop pushing for what I feel is right! With that said … I have noticed that my social networks have become a playground for recess for hate … that’s the last thing I wanted to happen! “
Hubbard continued: “You will listen to me … You will see me … You will feel me! But not on Twitter or other social networks until further notice! Everyone loves Chuba RMN”
Chuba has been one of the most vocal athletes in the fight for social justice after George Floyddeath … he was the who famously forced OSU Coach Mike Gundy apologize last month for wearing an OAN shirt.
