Over the course of his career, Orlando Bloom has played a pirate and an elf. He currently plays soldier-turned-inspector Rycroft Philsotrate in the neo-noir fantasy series Carnival Row. But thanks to the pandemic, his new full-time role is his favorite: father. On a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Bloom revealed his quarantine activities. And it’s about building intricate LEGO creations with his nine-year-old son Flynn.
“I actually found it somewhat reassuring,” Bloom admitted to Fallon. He then talked about how he fell prey to the addiction to LEGO building. Hy was the one who wanted to stay up a little later to complete a project. The result of their shared work was more than just a bonding experience. The actor has a room full of her LEGO creations, ranging from 1960s Porsches to epic trucks.
According to actor’s fiancée Katy Perry, Bloom’s obsession with LEGO toys has kept the actor busy for months. A recent interview on SiriusXM revealed that they had a LEGO room in their house – which used to be a TV room. “He gets these LEGOs that are super hard to do like the model cars and stuff and he’ll make that in two days and then he’s showing them on the walls,” she told Sirius back in May. “We have a LEGO wall. It’s like a championship LEGO wall. ”

Bloom told Fallon that quarantine leave has been “a real comfort” since he worked hard for the pandemic hit. In addition to building countless LEGO toys, he has spent his time preparing for a new arrival: a baby girl. We can bet it will only take a few years before he shares the same kind of bonding time with his new daughter, and shows her how she can build LEGO creations of her own.
