Orange County sees decline in COVID-19 ER visits and hospital admissions


ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Health Officer Dr. Pino said Orange County sees a reduction in COVID-19 ER visits and hospital admissions.

The daily positive rate has dropped three days in a row, according to the Department of Health.

Dr. Pino wants Orange County residents to continue with safety measures and guidelines in place.

“We have to get through this,” Pino said.

There have been more than 33,400 cases of COVID-19 in Orange County.

The median age for COVID-19 in the province is 36, according to the Department of Health.

The DOH reports that there have been 1,006 hospitalizations and 351 deaths in the province due to the virus.

Pino said as of yesterday there were 54 people in ICU beds, this number on July 18 was 104.

Students enrolled in personal instruction will return to class in Orange County on Friday.

The DOH reports that 1,503 children under the age of 15 tested positive for COVID-19.

Last week, a 9-year-old at Circle Christian School tested positive for COVID-19.

The student went to class on the Winter Garden campus.

School officials said the other students and the teacher were asked to quarantine and test for the virus.
