Orange County reported 713 new cases and 6 new deaths as of July 3 – Orange County Register


The Orange County Health Care Agency reported six new deaths as of Friday, July 3, bringing the total number of people in the county who died of the coronavirus to 360.

Of the 360 ​​deaths, 184 were included as people in skilled nursing facilities and two as homeless people.

There were 713 new cases of the virus confirmed on Friday. In the last three days, 2,714 new cases have been reported.

The cumulative total of cases is now 15,778 since testing began in March. The seven-day average, since June 24, increased to 445 per day.

According to the California Department of Health, there have been 107 COVID-19 deaths in Orange County in the past 14 days.

The county’s breakdown of deaths by age is as follows:

  • 85 and older: 32% (116)
  • 75-84: 27% (96)
  • 65-74: 18% (62)
  • 55-64: 12% (43)
  • 45-54: 9% (32)
  • 35-44: 2% (8)
  • 25-34: 1% (3)
  • 24 and under: 0%
