A man was shot dead Saturday at the Olympia in Washington and six people were arrested in Washington, D.C., as protesters clashed over the presidential election, racial injustice and epidemic sanctions.
A suspect in the shooting has been arrested, the Washington State Patrol Sergeant said. Darren Wright, who indicated that pro-Trump and anti-Trump protesters were in and around the Capitol campus, and some protesters appeared ready for violence.
He said both sides are equipped with heavily armed individuals in groups. “We’ve had sporadic encounters all day.”
Protesters in the state capital included Trump supporters, Black Lives Matter activists and those protesting the epidemic ban.
Wright said officials declared the assembly illegal, leading to the dispersal of many protesters.
In the country’s capital, Metropolitan Police Department officials arrested half a dozen people in protest of the “March for Trump.” Pro-Trump marches, “Four more years” and “We want Trump.”
Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and Infowar host Alex Jones spoke at the event. In a video posted on social media, the FBI showed a group associated with white nationalism, the insignia of Progad Boys, and people dressed in black and yellow.
