The OnePlus Nord may be an affordable smartphone, but it doesn’t skimp much on features. Today, OnePlus Nord was confirmed to have a wide-angle selfie camera. You know, to avoid death with selfie stick.
In a short video on Instagram, OnePlus highlights that almost 3,000 people are killed each year as a result of selfie sticks, despite the fact that it is greatly exaggerated. Still, OnePlus saw that as something to be solved with Nord.
The company says OnePlus Nord offers a 105-degree ultra-wide-angle lens in its front secondary camera, allowing them to fit more in-frame with the arm extended. OnePlus isn’t the first to adopt this, as Google’s Pixel 3 and 3 XL offer the same functionality, albeit noticeably with a wider field of view of 107 degrees.
Thanks to a previous leak, we know that the dual selfie camera suite on the OnePlus Nord consists of a 32MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. Presumably, those are the standard and ultra-wide sensors, respectively.
OnePlus Nord will debut next week on July 21. The company will also launch its first truly wireless pair of headphones alongside the phone.
