Samsung recently unveiled its second flagship for 2020 – the Galaxy Note20 – with a host of exclusive features as part of One UI 2.5. However, that exclusivity does not last too long, and the company has already started porting some of those features to its older phones. Since today, Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 2.5 update to the Galaxy S20 trio, with more devices expected to join soon.
Just like with the Note20, S20 owners will also have improved the Pro Video mode in the native camera app that supports cinematic 8K videos in a wide ratio of 21: 9. You can also change the mic focus of ‘ the phone opt for enhanced audio input for direction and even use the microsoft Buds of mic as the source. Samsung DeX wireless pairing with compatible smart TVs makes a debut on the Galaxy S20 line along with the option to use your phone as a multi-touch trackpad.

One UI 2.5 also adds a way to quickly share Wi-Fi credentials with other Galaxy devices. The enhanced Samsung Notes app gets the clean Audio bookmarking feature that syncs your notes with corresponding audio recording for you to browse through later. The app also brings a host of other features that include handwritten notes that seem better suited for the S Pen-clad phones.
We recently confirmed that One UI 2.5 will definitely add support for gesture navigation in third-party starters on the Note20. There seems to be no reason why the S20 does not get similar treatment, but we need to test this update just to be sure. Samsung has not detailed its launch plan, except to say that it will launch today, August 21st. If their previous record is anything to go by, the One UI 2.5 build will first land on European Galaxy S20 units before reaching the US and elsewhere.
Rollout begins in the United States
One UI 2.5 now extends widely to Galaxy S20 phones in the United States. T-Mobile has posted changelogs for the S20, S20 +, and S20 Ultra, and the update also goes out to models with unlocked models.
