One Direction fans want a reunion after the band returned to Instagram and Twitter for their tenth anniversary

One Direction fans lit up Instagram and Twitter when the band joked about something cool for their 10th anniversary. The group has remained silent on both social media platforms for the past few years. So naturally, the Directioners encountered a wave of emotions when they saw the new post. Some fans even cling to the hope of a One Direction reunion. But no matter what happens next, it’s clear everyone is ready to take a memory lane trip on July 23.

A decade has passed since Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik formed One Direction in Factor X. The group was an instant hit with the public, delivering five solid albums. The band then had a long hiatus in March 2016, months after Malik announced their departure. Meanwhile, the members pursued solo projects.

A day before One Direction’s tenth anniversary on July 23, the band’s official Twitter account tweeted for the first time in two years.

“Tomorrow! You and I have a lot of history # 10YearsOf1D”, said the legend, referring to the “History” of 2015.

Meanwhile, the Instagram account One Direction ran the same ad, caption, and everything. This was the group’s first post since May 2016.

Previously, Simon Jones PR revealed that a “10 Years of One Direction” website will be launched, highlighting an “interactive and exciting experience for fans.” Directors will also receive a 10-year celebration video and a customizable playlist.

“The site will take the form of a timeline that will trace the group’s history, from the first audition to the start of their hiatus,” the public relations company wrote. “It will host an archive of behind-the-scenes music videos, artwork, TV performances and rare content, all in one place.”

After the 10th anniversary posts on Instagram and Twitter, One Direction fans took over the social media platforms to express their enthusiasm and gratitude.

“I was not ready for this,” wrote one director on Twitter. “Alexa plays One Direction’s ‘Heart Attack'”.

“Happy 10 years One Direction,” wrote another fan. “Thanks for everything. I love you all so much.”

Then some fans wondered if One Direction will use the anniversary to get back together or at least to have a meeting.

“I am 100% sure that the only thing that can save 2020 is the one-way meeting,” one fan tweeted.

“Honestly, if an address doesn’t get back together, I don’t know what I’m going to do with my life,” wrote another fan.

For now, fans will just have to wait and see if One Direction members get together for their tenth anniversary. But in April 2020, Payne hinted that the band reconnected to prepare for the big celebration.

“We have a ten-year anniversary to come, so we’ve all been talking a lot over the past few weeks, which has been really nice,” the singer told The Sun. “To hear the voices of many people and see old content and different things that we haven’t seen in a long time or have never seen before, it’s very interesting.”

He continued: “There are a number of different things we are all working on to try to make happen and people are forwarding emails. But more than anything, it was a good time for us to connect again. “

Whatever happens next, it’s clear that One Direction fans will be well fed. So stay tuned.
