Utah broke a one-day record in COVID-19 cases with 4,588 positive tests on Friday – and reported that another 17 Utahns had died from the virus.
Since last week, the state has received an average of 3,3311 new positive test results, according to a Utah Health Department report. Since last week, 23.6% of people have tested, which yields a positive test result.
The identities of the 17 people who died are as follows:
Davis County man over the age of 85.
• Salt Lake County residents: four men – one between 45 and 64, two between 65 and 84, and one over 85 – and two women, one between 25 and 44, and another between 65 and 84.
The San San Juan County man is over 85 years old.
• Six Utah County residents: five men – 45 between 45 and 64, two 65, 65 between 84, one over 85 – and one woman, Between 65 and 84.
Washington Two Washington County residents: a man over the age of 85 and a woman between the ages of 45 and 64.
85 A Weber County man is over 85 years old.
U.D.O.H. The report said the number of patients admitted to the hospital was high but remained stable on Friday, with 533 people admitted simultaneously.
In the last two weeks, 1,428 Utahns have been hospitalized for Covid-19. A total of 350 patients have been admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 across the state since Thursday.
As of Friday, Utah’s intensive care units had captured 89.3% – hospital officials say the ICU is effectively filled.
Friday’s case count is the largest one-day telly in the state since the epidemic began. More than 5,000,000 cases were reported at UDOH last Saturday, but the actual number was around 1,000,000 that day, due to a one-day technical glitch in the department’s data.
Six local health districts in the state set single-day records: Washech County, with 1,808; With San Juan County, 970; Davis County, with 500; With Twill County, 105; Southeast Utah Health District (covering Carbon, Emery and Grand counties), with 1,097; And Weber-Morgan Health District, with 382.
Salt Lake County reported 1,585 new cases Friday, and Utah County raised 1,105 in the past 24 hours – not a one-day record, but only due to last week’s data glitch.
