OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Mutual of Omaha announced the “retirement” of its corporate logo on Friday.
Effective immediately, the company will stop using Native American images in its corporate brand as part of several new initiatives that address “racial equity and social justice,” according to a press release.
The company has committed $ 1 million to community initiatives and non-profit organizations committed to racial equity, inclusion, economic equality and social justice, according to the statement. It is also developing “a stronger provider diversity strategy, proactively seeking providers from underrepresented communities and purchasing from providers who are demonstrably committed to social justice and racial equity.”
