Old video shared as Pakistani soldiers celebrating after the Galwan Valley clash

Following the violent clash on the border between Indochina and the Galwan Valley last month. India lost 20 soldiers in that confrontation, Indian and Chinese authorities have been holding military talks to reduce tension on the border. Amid this, a video is being circulated showing people in military clothing enjoying the claim that Pakistan and China celebrate and dance after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in action.

“#China #Pakistan both R dancing across the # border after brutally killing # 20 # Indian soldiers. India is not as Indian as 1962. Soon both will regret it.” How’s the Josh doing? !!! Josh “!!” read the title of one of those posts.

The same video was also shared by China Global Television Network (CGTN) news producer Shen Swei on June 18, 3 days after the clash on the Indochina border.

“Dance time”, the caption reads.

The post was retweeted more than 5,000 times and garnered more than 18,000 reactions.

American war veteran Bryan Suits also shared the video with similar claims.

The video shows Pakistani and Chinese soldiers celebrating after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in action in the Galwan Valley.

Review of facts:

A Google Reverse Image search was performed dividing the video into individual frames using InVid, a tool for analyzing videos.

This led to a YouTube channel ‘Amyn Yar Baig’ that had posted the same video in November 2018.

“#Pakistan and #China Soldiers are #Dance in Khunjrab #CPEC #Army #hunza #gilgitbaltistan,” the caption of the video reads.

The Galwan Valley crash had occurred on June 15, 2020.

On Tuesday June 16, the Indian Army issued an official statement about the “violent clash” that took place between Indian and Chinese troops on the Current Line of Control in the eastern Galwan Valley in Ladakh on June 15.

The statement reported that both sides have been disconnected in the Galwan area, where they previously clashed.

“Indian and Chinese troops have disconnected in the Galwan area, where they had previously engaged on the night of June 15/16, 2020. 17 Indian troops who were seriously injured in the line of duty at the standstill and exposed at sub-zero temperatures on high-altitude terrain it has succumbed to its injuries, bringing the death toll in action to 20. The Indian Army is firmly committed to protecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation, “the army said in a release.

According to the statement, twenty Indian soldiers, including an officer in command of an infantry battalion, lost their lives in the violent confrontation with their Chinese counterpart.

Since the video has been available on the internet since 2018, it could not be related to the violent clash on the border between Indochina and eastern Ladakh.

Additionally, a keyword search led to a longer version of the video that was found on JoJo Aigner’s YouTube channel, a Vlogger.

In the 25-minute video that was filmed by him, Aigner says he was crossing the Pakistani border and entering China.

The video description says he was hitchhiking from Turkey to Iran.

The viral video is a short clip from this long video. Starts from the 8:30 time stamp to the 9:26 time stamp. He claims to show the camaraderie that exists between Pakistan and China.
