Oklahoma now has a record of new daily cases. Also, the state has recorded the highest number of deaths reported in 24 hours and also has a record number of hospital admissions.
According to the Ok Klahoma State Health Department, there have been an average of more than 1,200 Kovid-19 cases per day in Ok Klahoma in the past week. The daily number of cases on Thursday is 2,100. In the same period, there have been an average of 15 deaths per day in the state. The death toll on Thursday connects our record with 21.
Health officials said the more cases there are, the harder it becomes for local hospitals. There are currently a record 1,055 hospital admissions across the state.
“We can only take care of a certain portion of patients during the winter months,” said Carrie Byrne of Integris Health. “We don’t want to be able to diagnose or process someone’s cancer.”
In a statement, the state health department said:
“..Today the case and the casualty calculations are relevant, but before yesterday, or a day before or a week before … we know that community transmission is happening, and without Oklahomans to assume that this trend will change significantly. No reason. A change in their behavior. “
Statistics show that since July, the numbers have skyrocketed. The state now has more than 129,000 accumulated cases reported in Oklahoma. Healthcare providers said certain events over the past few weeks could contribute to the spike, including a recent blizzard.
“With the power outage, if we knew people were trying to stay safe and live together and take shelter in the same place, we could have a potential spread there,” Byrne said.
OSDHA confirmed that Oklahoma County is moving into Tier 3 of the state’s hospital surgery plan, which may include canceling alternative surgeries. However, the governor’s office said it had no plans to do so at present.
