Authorities say they are looking for a fugitive from the Oklahoma City Jail in Oklahoma City who used tied sheets to get off the building from a 12th-floor cell.
OKLAHOMA CITY – A murder suspect escaped from the Oklahoma County Jail in Oklahoma City early Friday morning by using tied sheets to get off the building from a 12th-floor cell, authorities said.
Pablo Robledo, 34, who was detained on a first-degree murder charge, and his cellmate escaped by breaking a window in his cell and going down, according to jail spokesman Mac Mullings.
Mullings said Robledo was seen in a jail security video around 5:25 a.m. outside the jail. They were looking for him on Friday.
Cellmate José Hernández fell or jumped from the makeshift rope on the fourth floor and was found and arrested by Oklahoma City police.
Jail records show that Robledo has been jailed since June 2019 for murder, assault and battery, domestic abuse, and other charges.
Court records show that he pleaded not guilty and was tried as of August 31.
