CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Health reported 968 new cases of coronavirus and four new deaths in the last 24 hours on Sunday.
Ohio has reported a total of 57,151 coronavirus infections since it confirmed its first three cases on March 9. The state has reported 2,911 deaths.
There have been 8,172 hospitalizations due to the virus, including 61 in the past 24 hours. The state has been averaging 61 hospitalizations in the past three weeks.
Ohio has also reported 2,058 admissions to UCI, including 6 more in the past 24 hours. That is well below the three-week average of 21 new ICU admissions per day.
According to Johns Hopkins University, there have been 11.3 million confirmed coronavirus infections and 531,728 deaths worldwide as of Sunday.
According to Johns Hopkins, approximately 2.9 million people contracted the coronavirus in the US, and approximately 132,000 died.
The record for new Ohio coronavirus cases in a single day is 1,380, which the state reached on April 19 after conducting massive tests of prisoners and staff in state jails.
Ohio reported 926 new cases on Saturday, 1,091 new cases on Friday and 1,301 new cases on Thursday.
