Ohio newlyweds open up about their COVID-19 supersprider wedding

The Ohio newlyweds whose marriage turned into a coronavirus supersprider event opened up about the ordeal, describing the emotional “toll” of learning about the increase in cases.

Of the 83 people who attended the Halloween wedding of Anthony and Mikayala Bishop of Blue Ash City, 327 people have since tested positive for coronavirus, including the couple and their three grandparents.

“Every day we get calls. Oh there’s another guy here. Here is another person. Here is another person. And it starts to take a toll on you, “said Michaela Bishop.

Mikayla said most of the guests at their wedding were masked for their big day, the couple preparing to cover all attendees face to face.

“I don’t think about half of our wedding guests are going to get sick,” the bride told the outlet.

“You are the moment. You’re having fun. You don’t think about COVID anymore, ”he said.

The couple fell ill on their way to their honeymoon in North Carolina. The groom had mild symptoms, but Mikayla had a more severe bug attack.

Two of the three grandparents who contracted the coronavirus were hospitalized.
