Ohio Day HC, Ohio Day, promise to fight for a season of football

The news and reaction that came after the rumors of the impressive end of the 2020 football season in 2020 are untenable, but the reaction has been overwhelming, coordinated, and rapid to push back on hopes of saving the season .

Earlier today, the head coach of Jim Jim Harbaugh of Michigan actually did what Buckeye Nation could get behind when he spoke out in support of playing the season in a statement via the university.

That left us wondering how head coach Ohio Day felt about where things are. It did not take long to find out.

Day took to Twitter this afternoon with what looked like a promise to try things out and fight as hard as he possibly can to move forward in a season for his Ohio State team.

What is important here is that this is not just someone who comes up with an attitude. This is the head coach of Ohio State, the team that moves the needle and is the flag bearer of the Big Ten, the conference that all this movement has begun to cancel or postpone the season.

And make no mistake about it: That tweet will not be sent unless his boss (Gene Smith), and other administrators at Ohio State feel the same way.

And if there’s a team in the country in the best position to swing its influence on this whole deal, it’s the team that lives in Columbus, Ohio, on the banks for the Olentangy.

Maybe, maybe there’s still a chance we’ll have a college football season this fall, because Ryan Day is not completely swinging and missing.
