An Ohio couple ordered a pizza and were horrified to open the box to find their pepperoni arranged like a swastika, according to a report.
Jason Laska said he had picked up the cake Saturday night at a Little Caesars store in Brook Park and brought it home, WJW-TV reported.
“[My wife] He turned and asked, “Baby, did you order this? Did they do it to you?” And I turned around and looked at him and I could see the surprise on his face and then his jaw dropped, “Laska told the store.
The couple called the pizzeria, which had just closed, to complain and received a response the next day from the manager.
“[The employees] He said it was supposed to be an inside joke that they were playing with each other and with the other employee, and that the pizza should never come out, “Laska said.
The manager told them that the employees involved were fired, but the couple said they never plan to return to the store.
“We are the type of people who support diversity in our country, we accept it and we love it. We just want to see this hatred stop, ”Laska’s wife, Misty, told WJW-TV.
Little Caesars confirmed in a statement that the chain fired employees involved in the offensive incident.
“We have zero tolerance for racism and discrimination in any form, and these franchise store employees were immediately fired,” a spokesperson told the outlet. We are deeply disappointed that this has happened, as this conduct is completely against our values.
