San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Becker County Judge Nelson Wolfe updated the community about the local response to COVID-19 in their daily briefings Friday night.

As of Friday, Nirenberg had reported 60,442 cases of COVID-19 and 1,211 deaths in Baxter County, an increase of 184 new cases. Two new deaths have been reported today.

The 7-day moving average of the case is 133.

City officials also reported that 200 patients are hospitalized, 80 are in the intensive care unit and 32 are on ventilators. There are 12% staff beds available and 75% ventilators available.

Wolfe said that while his updated executive order said the bar could open as early as Tuesday, the Texas Alcoholic Beverages Commission should greenlight those establishments to reopen. He said he expects the bars to be able to reopen by the end of next week or early next week.
