ATHENS – Georgia football coach Kirby Smart said he “didn’t fall into that trap” by ignoring a seemingly overwhelming opponent in Arkansas this Saturday.
The Bilddogs opened as a 24.5-point favorite over Razorbacks in a game at 4pm in Fayetteville on Saturday. Georgia was at home against South Carolina for the last time, picking up an opponent by 24.5 points.
Third-year quarterback Jack Fromm was picked up three times and Las Groza Award-winning kicker Rodrigo Blankenship missed two field goals in a home defeat between the hedges of Sanford Stadium.
In this version of Georgia the quarterback and kicker will start their new career games, on the road, with new plans and positions coaches.

The Bulldogs had a No. 1 ranking scoring defense in the nation last season, but Smart ruled out any talk of his unit being over-hyped.
It was the first of three takeovers from Georgia’s Tuesday night zoom session.
Protective chip
He’s pretty clear smart and overlooks the Bulldogs coach’s preseason All-SEC team, while only two Georgia players named were the predecessor First Team All-SEC.
Senior safety Richard Lacont and junior nostalgic Jordan Davis were the only prison choices.

“It depends on who you ask. I don’t think there’s a lot of hype in our defense in terms of All-SEC guys.” “I think all the good defenses are somewhere else, because I don’t know if we’ve put them down, but maybe two people?” I do not know. Richard and Jordan were the only two I admired.
“We have all great players, they certainly can’t get recognition that way.”
The equation of identity
For all the talk of what the crime of Georgia football will look like – and a preconceived notion of what smart looks like – it’s really quite simple.
“We’re built around what we think and we can be the most successful players we can be,” Smart said. [we] Study the many teams that succeeded last year, as we do every year. [We] See [at] We have other teams like us that can have something similar – i.e. if there is an elite receiver or an elite tight end or so [defensive] Back or really good, featured quarterback.
“Whatever it is, we think the teams that we can emulate have been successful.”
One thing that hasn’t changed is that Smart aims to control the scrimmage line with the run game.
“We should be able to run the ball to set other things,” he said.
Injury update
Smart said he or she would not disclose how many Georgia football players were excluded by the COVID-19 results. Bulldogs are tested three times a week, including just before going to road locations on Fridays.
Smart revealed that graduate transfer Tight & Tray ‘McKitty is not expected to play in Arkansas on Saturday.
McKitty, from Florida, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery 2/2 weeks ago.
The smart, jetty Daniels, featured on the quarterback on Tuesday, have not yet cleared to play, a sign that the red shirt new friend D’van Mathis will probably take the first snap.
Daniels underwent ACL surgery last September and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee last January to clean the scar tissue.
Georgia sophomore receiver Dominic Blalock (knee) and freshman defensive back Kelly Ringo (Labrum) are out for the season.
