NYC mother says she started JetBlue flight after toddler did not wear mask

The Brooklyn mother who was kicked out of a Newark-bound JetBlue plane in Florida when her 2-year-old failed to disguise said the “traumatic” mission left her six children in tears.

“I was completely amazed,” Midwood mother Chaya Bruck, 39, told The Post on Thursday.

‘They were rude. They were hard. My kids were scared. They cried. It was extremely traumatic. I shook. ”

Bruck said JetBlue staff – including a plane with which she was already having problems on her trip with Orlando – began asking her to cover her daughter’s face from the moment the family got on their seats on Wednesday.

‘I feel like the pilot had it in for me. He would get revenge, “she said.

He said, ‘She needs to cover her mouth. I said, ‘What do you want me to do? Do you want me to tie her hands and feet? ‘I tried to put a mask on her and she pulled it off. ‘

Aircraft companies asked Bruck and her six children to get off the plane for a few minutes – and other passengers took off in their defense, she said.

Video of the phone showed passengers killing the flight crew while the family was boarding. JetBlue eventually ordered everyone on board to board the plane.

They said, ‘Let them go! ‘She started yelling at the crew member. They were supported, ”Bruck said of her other travelers.

The family finally flew back to the Big Apple five hours later on a United flight.

JetBlue updated its rules on August 10 to require masks for all passengers 2 years and older, an aviation reporter told The Post on Thursday.

“Children 2 years of age and older must wear a face mask, in accordance with CDC guidelines, which state: ‘Masks should not be worn by children under 2 years of age,'” said spokesman Derek Dombrowski.
