When Nintendo announced Super Mario 3D All Stars Collection for Switch in September, he made it very clear that it would be a “limited time” release that would only be available until the end of March 2021.
What will happen to these games once they go into this collection? NPD’s industry analyst, Mat Pistella, recently shared his theory about what could happen to each of these games – stating how they are expected to be offered separately:
“I don’t think these games will disappear, like what happened to the old school Disney vault. But I think there may be additional flexibility and purchase options. For example, à la carte shopping options on eShop. “
In fact, Piscatella thinks the strong sales and demand for Super Mario 3D All-Stars should give Nintendo “extra confidence in bringing other legacy titles” to its new platform. Having said that, it’s hard to say what a company like this can do.
“But again, it’s Nintendo, so I expect to be surprised.”
Super Mario 3D All Stars is not the only limited time release that Nintendo has recently made. Battle Royale Super Mario Bros. 35 Will only be eligible to play until the end of March next year.
Free-to-title title Jump Rope Challenge It was another game that was planned as a limited time release until Nintendo decided to increase its availability.
