Zlatan will miss Thursday’s Europa League game against Bodø / Glimt.

The case is being updated

The great Italian club confirms it on its own website:

– Zlatan Ibrahimović has tested positive for Covid-19 after a second round of testing before tonight’s match against Bodø / Glimt. The club has informed the necessary, and the player has been immediately quarantined at home. All other team members and employees tested negative.

This will come out the same day that AC Milan face Bodø / Glimt at San Siro, for qualification for the Europa League.

Press contact Regine Boym tells AN that Glimt’s camp has no further information on the case.

– We don’t know much more yet and we are working to get an overview, he says.

– Do you fear a postponement of the game?

– It’s hard to say anything about this. There are many here who will speak together and make a decision. We just have to wait.

On Wednesday afternoon it was confirmed that AC Milan midfielder Leo Duarte was also infected with the virus. Therefore, the club now has two players who must face the match against Glimt.

So Glimt has a little less to think about before Thursday’s sell-off, although the team is still expected to have a very tough match against the Italians.

The northern Norwegian team has been in great shape in the national Elite Series this season and the yellows have replaced goals. It has given Eurosport expert Joachim Jonsson faith in a very small miracle at San Siro.

– Bodø / Glimt could not have faced Milan at a better time, both for him and for Milan. Glimt is in the middle of the season, he is full of confidence and Milan plays their first league game today (Monday), Eurosport’s Joacim Jonsson told Nettavisen.

The team that clearly tops the Eliteserie table, claimed the 16th win of the season in a 3-1 win against Brann on Sunday.

– If it had been at home, I would have thought that the opportunities to advance are great, but I don’t think it is entirely unrealistic that they can beat Milan. There will be no overtaking, the expert believes.
