On Saturday at 11:30 p.m., the police moved to a quiet residential area in Åsane. In one of the apartments in the building, they found a young woman and a young man.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was conscious but needed medical supervision. He was taken to hospital.
Police believe the death appears to be suspicious but cannot yet say anything about the cause of death. They were at the scene Sunday morning and are doing preliminary investigations.
Both people are 20 years old. The reason for the departure of the police was a message of concern from the family of the person who lived there.
Relatives of the woman have been notified of the death.
Due to infection control considerations, an autopsy on the deceased will not be performed until at least Monday. Therefore, the cause of death is also not clarified.
On Sunday afternoon, police say the man in the hospital has not yet been questioned, but that further attempts will be made later that day. At the same time, the police will speak with the relatives of the deceased. The family does not live in Bergen.
A survey is carried out in the neighborhood and the police have interviewed witnesses from several neighbors.
The apartment has been sealed and forensic investigations have been conducted.
