For Jan Thomas, Marion Ravn and Nicolay Ramm, the detective job at “Maskorama” has become a full-time job. – I had to ask friends and colleagues to stop messaging, says Ravn.

In “Maskorama”, celebrities perform songs disguised in spectacular costumes.

So far, it is artist Mia Gundersen, Center Party leader Trygve Slagsvold Vedum, and former handball player Susann Goksør Bjerkrheim who have been revealed and had to leave the competition.

Silje Nordnes leads the show, and with her on the team she has Jan Thomas, Marion Ravn and Nicolay Ramm as permanent detective panel.

– This is definitely the most fun I’ve ever been up to. I love the shows, the costumes and the music, as well as being a lot of fun, Jan Thomas tells VG.

With the help of all of Norway, the panel will guess which celebrities are hiding behind the masks.

– I was a bit skeptical, I must be honest, says Ramm.

He calls it “showbiz madness” and says he wasn’t sure if it was his territory to be a detective in a masquerade show.

– But something has happened, now I am completely inside him, he says.

Raven, on the other hand, was never in doubt when asked.

– I look forward to every Saturday! It’s really fun, she says.

– I’m going crazy

There is no doubt that the show has captivated both the panel and the viewers.

Last week it was revealed that it was Mia Gundersen who hid behind Puddelen, much to the surprise of many. Gundersen, who has a Rogaland dialect, spoke with the Nordland dialect in costume.

– I didn’t see it coming at all. They tricked me into spinning around, says Ramm.

– Wheel, yes. I have heard her sing so many times that it is completely absurd that she did not understand it. He was in shock when he removed his mask, says Jan Thomas.

From the stage where the panel of detectives sits, there are a few meters to the “booths” in which the participants remain during the broadcast.

– We’re going crazy. We look forward to running behind and revealing everyone, says Ramm.

The goal of the show is to preserve the excitement surrounding the celebrities who are behind the masks, and the measures to secure the secrets are then.

– But they take great care of us. When we arrive we are greeted by a person who takes us to a back room, and we have to sit there. If we have to go to the bathroom, we have to call someone to pick us up and check if the shoreline is ready, says Ramm.

This is how they work

Jan Thomas, Ramm and Ravn say they are dedicated to work as detectives.

– All Saturday we sit in each of our corners and prepare. We really want to argue together, but we try to save it until we get on the air, says Ramm.

Everyone has their own notebook that is diligently used before, during and after shipment.

– We have these notes from time to time. So try to see if there is a common thread in the suggestion packages, it says.

SEE ALSO: A comment by Judge Marion Ravn against “Star Wars” contestant Sandra Lyng generated quite a stir online. When Sandra Lyng is asked about it, she refuses to answer.

– It’s a proper detective job. And it’s the interaction between the detectives, the spectators, and the strange things that happen on stage that make it a folk festival, adds Jan Thomas.

Don’t get peace

Although they mainly use Saturday for preparations, “Maskorama” has become a kind of full-time job.

– It’s in the back of my mind all week. Especially when I go to bed, I lie down and think, and suddenly new ideas come to me, says Ravn.

– My Google search list does not appear. I’m looking for old ladies from northern Norway in some way, laughs Ramm.

Ramm says that you must not leave in peace.

– Wherever I go, be it at lunchtime or in the hallways of NRK, the cleaning lady comes suddenly to try to help, says Ramm.

And the same goes for their peers.

– I have had to ask friends and colleagues to stop sending messages. I don’t want it to affect me, so I can order with open cards, says Ravn.

DELICIOUS CRAZY: Jan Thomas says “Maskorama” is the funniest he’s ever been to. – We need delicious madness, he says. Photo: Julia Naglestad / NRK

– We need delicious madness

However, they make no secret that it is exciting to hear other people’s opinions about the show and they say they are overwhelmed by commitment.

– It’s absolutely huge. I’ve never been to Makan, says Ramm.

Why do you think that is the case?

– I think curiosity makes them go completely crazy at home too, says Ravn.

– Without being as terribly deep as I usually be, I think if there is something we need these days it is “Maskorama”. We need delicious madness, says Jan Thomas.
