The case is being updated

The presidency in Lillestrøm and Lørenskog has decided to introduce the same strict crown measures as in Oslo, including by closing shops and restaurants.

The new measures will take effect from 12 noon.

The decision was made during a meeting Wednesday morning.

Frps Anette Elseth in Lillestrøm went against the recommendation of the municipal director and wanted to continue with the measures that have already been implemented.

– I think it will be wrong to propose new measures for those who really follow them, he said during the meeting.

She notes that the municipality has not had a high enough infection pressure to receive more vaccines, but that measures are now being introduced that affect groups that already follow strict existing rules. He wants more specific measures and also believes that measures that have already been introduced should be better applied.

– It cannot be entirely Joker Nord to be a resident or autonomous in the municipality, he says.

The other representatives also stressed that there is a long way to go to vote in favor of the recommended measures.

MDG’s Eline Stangeland emphasized that she voted in favor of the “heart ache and bleeding” measures. Several of the representatives also expressed that they want national measures.

According to Romerikes Blad where 61 new cases of infection were reported in Romerike in the last 24 hours.

On Tuesday, it became clear that Lørenskog and other areas with high infection pressure will receive more doses of the vaccine. However, this does not apply to Lillestrøm.

On Monday, it emerged that several municipalities around Oslo were considering tightening the measures.

– We must introduce drastic measures because the infection situation in Lillestrøm is similar to that in Oslo. We have 20 percent unknown infection and more than 50 percent are from the UK variant, and it is terribly contagious, Lillestrøm Mayor Jørgen Vik (Labor) told VG on Monday.

City director Trine Myrvold Wikstrøm also proposed discouraging home visits and banning indoor and outdoor events, with the exception of funerals, funerals, weddings, christenings, and parties and competitions for professional artists.

The presidency in Lillestrøm approved these measures on Wednesday morning.

Bærum evaluates Thursday

The Bærum municipality will have a presidency meeting on Thursday and then consider local regulations. Today, shopping malls are open and dumping is allowed until 10pm, which is in line with national regulations. Gyms are open too, but only for bearings.

The railing is waiting

Rælingen municipality lies between Lørenskog and Lillestrøm, which is now introducing strict measures, but said on Monday they have no plans to do the same.

– The most important measures in Oslo, and that concern the health authorities, have to do with limiting mobility and the services that attract many people. In Rælingen we have few shops, restaurants and other things that have this effect, so it is different for us than urban municipalities in the region, Mayor Ståle Grøtte (Labor) told VG on Monday.

He said his high school is already on the red level. And it highlights that crisis management continually conducts assessments of what measures will be relevant to them.

– Of course, we will implement specific measures in the event of an outbreak, as we also quickly did in the outbreak of infection in one of our schools a few weeks ago.
