A large rescue operation is underway in Myrdal, three people were injured, according to police.
At 03.21, the Western Police District was notified of an accident in Rallarvegen, near Myrdal in the municipality of Aurland.
Police say three people are aware of it, but the extent of the damage is unknown. Police, ambulance and helicopter participate in the rescue operation.
Unclear about injuries
– A vehicle went off the road and ended 10 to 20 meters down a slope. It should be a UTV issue, Steinar Hausvik, operations manager in the West Police District tells BT at 5.15am.
UTV is an off-road vehicle and generally has a higher payload and is longer and wider than ATVs.
According to Hausvik, the accident occurred in Rallarvegen south of Seltuftvatnet. He describes it as a work accident. Bane Nor claims the accident occurred in connection with work on a snow superstructure.
Picked up by helicopter
One person has been transported to Vatnahalsen in a UTV. There are health personnel, according to the operations manager.
The other two will be transported by helicopter. At 06:45, the Main Rescue Center informs that work is in progress to get them onto the helicopter.
– They’ll probably be sent to Haukeland, says rescue leader Eric Willasen at the Main Rescue Center.
It is 4.4 kilometers in a straight line from the place where the accident occurred to Vatnahalsen. BT is informed that the injured are not transported to the hotel.
