There was no obvious cause of death and therefore an autopsy on the deceased was routinely requested, the Southwest Police District writes in a press release.

– The police have now received a preliminary autopsy report. For investigative reasons, we do not wish to comment on the details of the report, but investigations into the deceased show findings that may indicate that the man was murdered. Police have now charged his partner with murder, reports police attorney Christine Kleppa.

Both the victim and the accused are in their 40s and are known to the police from other circumstances.

At the beginning of the investigation

The accused woman will be questioned during the evening.

– We are very early in the investigation and much work remains to be done. The house where the deceased was found has been cordoned off and a forensic investigation is underway at the scene. In addition, the police will focus on questioning witnesses and reviewing mobile data, Kleppa says.

Attorney Kjersti Jæger is the survivor assistance attorney. She tells Aftenbladet that she currently has no comment to make.

Attorney Odd Rune Torstrup is the advocate for the accused woman. When contacted by Aftenbladet Tuesday night, he claims he is being questioned.

Does not admit fault

The woman accused of murder will be questioned Tuesday night. He has not pleaded guilty to murder.

The prosecution’s attorney, police attorney Christine Kleppa, tells Aftenbladet that it was the defendants themselves who informed AMK of the death, and that AMK reported further to the police.

– There is talk of an unexpected death at the couple’s home. There are no other reasons why an autopsy was requested on the deceased. It is routine in these types of cases, says Kleppa, who does not answer if there were visible injuries in the deceased.

It highlights that on Christmas 2, when the police were notified of the death, there was no suspicion that there was something criminal behind it.

Considering custody

Kleppa further says that both the deceased and the accused are known to the police for several different criminal matters. He will not answer if the two, who lived together for several years, belonged to a charged environment.

– In the press release you mention that you will focus, among other things, on questioning witnesses. Was the other present when the death occurred?

– We don’t know him. Research will provide answers to this. We will question people in your circle of friends and also people with whom you had contact shortly before death, says Kleppa.

She says police Tuesday night are at the couple’s address for clues. The police are continually evaluating whether the accused woman should be taken into custody.
