Police were notified that a woman in her 70s had been found dead Thursday morning in her Åssiden apartment.
The woman accused of murder was questioned on Friday.
– She does not understand the accusation, but she consented to imprisonment for two weeks so that the police can carry out the investigations they deem necessary, informs the defense lawyer Andrea Wisløff to NTB.
Ask for four weeks
Interrogations were not completed on Friday, but the woman has already stated that she does not admit fault, according to the defender.
The police will request that the woman remain in custody for four weeks.
– She will be presented for safekeeping in Drammen District Court on Saturday morning, police attorney John Ivar Johansen in the southeast police district told NTB on Friday afternoon.
The police had not ruled on any restrictions during the incarceration period.
Suspicious first death
Since Thursday, local police and Kripos have been investigating what was initially considered a suspicious death. It was employees of the home health clinic who found the woman dead.
The police have seized the case, but the police lawyer does not want to comment at this time on what they have seized, writes Drammens Tidende.
According to the newspaper, the woman has been convicted before, including for drug and profit-related crimes, as well as for fraud. It is also said that he lived in the same block as the deceased.
The woman is said to have set off a fire alarm at the scene Thursday night. She was previously convicted of doing this in 2014.
