A woman and a man were detained after a man in his 30s allegedly displayed “an object resembling a gun” and made threats.
– We are at a private address in Ytre Arna in connection with the fact that at 21.58 we were notified of a threatening situation, says the operations manager in the West police district, Stine Mjelde.
The police considered the situation so serious that they chose to arm themselves. The first message was that they were looking for more people who could participate in the case.
Nobody hurt
It was made clear early on that the victim was not in immediate danger.
– We are in contact with the offended and they are safe. So far there are no reports that anyone has been injured, says Mjelde.
– What kind of threats are we talking about?
– I don’t want to delve into that. The police want to contact more people regarding these threats, Mjelde said around 10:45 p.m.
It is said that a man in his 30s came with threats
At 11:28 p.m., the police declared that a suspect in his 30s must have verbally threatened another man in his 40s.
He is also said to have displayed “a gun-like object,” according to police.
Soon after, the police reported that they had found the suspect and contacted him without drama.
Along with a woman, he has now been arrested and taken into custody. No weapons have been found so far, police wrote on Twitter at 12:28 AM, but they were informed it was an air or gas weapon.
It is not known, for example, what caused the threat situation.
