NEW YORK (Nettavisen): An American woman from Florida, who went to the German city while awaiting the result of a corona test, is now being hanged and named in various American media.

The 26-year-old has also been described as a “super spreader” in various international media.

“Garmisch-Partenkirchen is now an example of stupidity and an example of how quickly it can be infected,” Bavarian Governor Markus Soeder said in a statement, according to the Washington Post.

– Such cruelty must have consequences, he says.

I was on vacation in Greece

The American woman, who according to CNN works at the Edelweiss Lodge in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, is said to have infected more than 20 people with the coronavirus. Edelweiss Lodge is a hotel that houses American soldiers.

It is unclear exactly how many the woman is said to have infected.

The outbreak is said to have taken place after the woman returned home from a vacation in Greece. After the holidays, the woman is said to have gone to the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, despite the fact that she was in quarantine.

After returning from her vacation in Greece, she had a sore throat and went to get tested, but instead of being quarantined, she decided to go to the city.

According to The Guardian, the woman was tested for the coronavirus on September 8 of this year. Local authorities say she ignored instructions to stay home and went out into town that night.

The day after the city tour, September 8, the woman must have received a positive result. Subsequent tests have shown that several dozen people have been infected, both hotel colleagues and guests of the same nightclubs the woman had been to.

At least 24 of those infected are US citizens residing at the hotel, CNN reports.

According to the Daily Mail, the woman sent a text message to several of her colleagues that she did not know she had the coronavirus when she went out to town.

– I did not know I had “rona” when I left, writes in a text message that has been given access to the Daily Mail.

The woman is being investigated

The Munich prosecution is said to have opened an investigation against the 26-year-old Florida woman.

On Tuesday this week it was reported that three more people who were in the bars where the woman was, tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the Daily Mail.

CNN reports that there is now a sharp increase in the number of infected in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with 33 new cases on September 11 alone.
