Wolverine has been quarantined for ten days after one of the club’s players was diagnosed with coronary heart disease. Three 1st division games have been postponed.

This was stated by the Norwegian Football Association on Saturday morning.
Jerv’s next three matches against HamKam (away), Ull / Kisa (home) and Lillestrøm (away) will move as a result of the situation that has arisen at the Grimstad club.
– This means that we cannot meet as a group for a while. It’s unfortunate, but health comes first, says general manager Trond Christoffersen at Jerv.
He claims that the club learned of the positive test result on Friday.
– The player who tested positive is isolated. The entire group of top players is in quarantine.

Good control
The player in question was tested because he was recently abroad.
– He has no symptoms and is only at home. We are in dialogue with the municipal supervisor about the subsequent follow-up, says Christoffersen.
Jerv’s boss says the club has good control over where the player has been and who he has been in contact with. He has participated in some training sessions, but not games.
– The club keeps in touch with the rest of the players digitally and they measure the temperature several times a day. We have close contact with the NFF and follow the protocols that apply to top-level football, says Christoffersen.

– Almost inevitable
Brann’s player, Gilli Rólantsson, tested positive for the coronavirus in mid-August, but no matches were postponed as a result. When we contacted NFF Competition Director Nils Fisketjønn, he was not surprised that top-level football now has its first case with an entire team in quarantine.
– When infection increases in Norway and other parts of Europe, it was almost inevitable with infection in a club. We are prepared for this to happen. It is important to say that Jerv has not made any mistakes here. They have followed the protocols with tests before their arrival in Norway, upon arrival and after a few days. This is the third test that unfortunately came back positive, says Fisketjønn.
Now the football association will figure out how to fit Jerv’s three postponed games into an already packed schedule.
– We have not had time to look at the reframing, but today we sat down to look at it. The schedule is very tight going forward, but the plan is to complete the series anyway. This also applies if we have to play matches until January, says Fisketjønn.
