Contractor in controversial wind power plant

Stangeland Maskin is, among other things, a contractor for the controversial wind power development in Haramsøya.

Human resources manager Olav Silde at Stangeland Maskin claims that they have no evidence to say that development at Haramsøya may be the motive behind the letter.

Skårland in the police will also not link the letter to the development of wind energy.

– We have no clues or theories about the background that they have received letters, says Skårland.

– From now on, it is purely operational, so it will be a parallel investigation case. We have to come back to that later, he continues.

Stangeland Maskin’s general manager will not speculate on the motive behind the letter.

– Could it have something to do with the development of wind power in Haramsøya?

– We have few enemies, but it is natural to think of something, says Stangeland.

He says they haven’t come close to experiencing something like this before.

Started work in May

Stangeland sent its first construction workers to Haramsøya in May. The company has been commissioned to build the road to the top of the mountain where the wind turbines will be located.

Both locals and visitors have toured the mountain. This is to try to prevent construction workers from doing their jobs. The goal has been to hold back workers so much that the company does not have time to finish before the deadline expires in December 2021, E24 has previously written.

On Tuesday, the Høyland Offshore shipping company in the Øygarden municipality also received an envelope with white powder. Late Tuesday night, it emerged that the contents of the letter were harmless. According to Operations Manager Toralv Skårland, there is no reason to put the two incidents in context at this time.
