The infected municipalities in the so-called rings 1 and 2 around the Oslo fjord have until Tuesday morning at 07:30 to report their own wishes for further measures against corona infection.
Sarpsborg, which is one of the three municipalities near Halden and Oslo with the strictest infection control regime in recent weeks, sent its response to the State Administrator as early as Monday night.
– Our municipal doctors conclude that Sarpsborg now has both control and overview of the infection situation.
– Therefore, as of next Thursday, we want to get out of the national rules and decide for ourselves. We will start by reopening shopping malls and gyms, Mayor Sindre Martinsen-Evje (Labor Party) tells Dagbladet after a municipality crisis management meeting on Monday night.
The government announced a response on the way forward on Tuesday, and the mayor has called the presidency to a meeting on Wednesday morning. Wednesday is the last days with national rules for various municipalities of Oslo and Viken.
