Rogaland:
It will build a new county house for NOK 675 million.
The case was approved by the county council on October 20 of this year. Rogaland is one of the counties that did not merge, but has been assigned new duties as of January 1. The county had to rent additional premises for 250 employees due to Sam’s new duties and highway administration responsibility. Today’s county house is located in a building that is up to 120 years old and heavy and expensive to operate.
– An economic analysis shows that it is more profitable to demolish the part of the building that has the worst quality and replace it with a larger building with the killer solutions. It is more expensive to continue as today. Then we will have room for everyone in one building and save rental costs for additional premises, says County Councilor Inge Smith Dokken.
Vestland County:
A decision was made in the county council on June 12, 2019. The old county house was demolished in October this year and construction is underway. The new city hall will be an energy efficient and area efficient building.
– The decision was based on extensive studies and the process took several years. The cost is estimated at NOK 910 million, says county director Ingrid Holm Svendsen. It was the county council in the former Hordaland County Township that made the decision to build a new county house in Bergen.
Trøndelag:
Politicians will decide at the county council on December 16-17 whether a new county house will be built in Steinkjer for NOK 260 million. County politicians have asked for several reports before saying yes or no to a new city hall in Trondheim for 530 million.
Vestfold and Telemark
After the county merger, a new building was acquired in the center of Skien. Price: NOK 290 million. Renovation and new furniture cost 40 million.
– We are establishing a regional meetinghouse where political meetings can also be held. We adapt the areas to our use and improve the technical facilities, says section leader Truls Moen in Vestfold County and Telemark.
Inside:
The county house in Hamar dates from the 1970s and there will be a lot of rebuilding and rehabilitation. This will cost just over NOK 350 million.
– The costs would be incurred regardless of the regional reform, says Interior Councilor Trond Ole Bamrud.
There will be less remodeling of the facilities in Lillehammer. This will cost around 25 million crowns.
– When we finish, we will use significantly less square meters than before for administration and we will have a more efficient use of the premises, says Bamrud. He says part of the reason for not building new buildings is climate considerations.
Bay:
It is part of the merger agreement that a new building will be created in the merged county. No construction decision has been made in the county council.
– We currently have three management locations, and it will be both economical and efficient in the area to move to a more efficient building. No decision on a development will be made until after the Storting elections and a final clarification on Viken County, says county director Kristian Thowsen in Viken.
Agder:
– We are in process to enter the market soon to rent a new space in the center of Kristiansand and with the possibility of future purchases, says Agder Councilor Tine Sundtoft.
Can’t say anything about cost, but it will replace the facility rented today in Kristiansand.
There are no plans here:
Investments are not foreseen in the county houses of Troms and Finnmark, Møre og Romsdal, Nordland and Oslo.

Counties have been given more responsibility after regional reform. Among other things, county municipalities have taken over the portion of Sam’s highway administration that applies to county roads.
