A yellow warning has been issued for much of the country.

Previous warnings of wildfire danger have disappeared. Now it’s getting wet.

As rain falls over much of the country, the Meteorological Institute sends a yellow-level warning for various places in the country:

Inland counties will receive particularly heavy rains, although they will also rain heavily in much of the country. This county can get 40 millimeters from Wednesday night to Thursday night. Therefore, it issued a Yellow Precipitation Warning in Inland County.

For Agder, Vestfold and Telemark counties, Oslo and Viken, the yellow warning for too much wind on Thursday morning applies. In these areas, there is already wind and rain on Wednesday, but this will increase dramatically.

– It’s south wind. There’s a cool breeze off the coast today and there’s nothing stopping the south wind inland, so you’ll probably feel it on Viken too, state meteorologist Pernille Borander tells Nettavisen.

But it is from Wednesday night that the wind will really pick up. On Thursday, gusts of approximately 25 meters per second (full storm) can occur in coastal areas and gusts of approximately 20 meters per second (strong gale) in inland areas.

– We recommend securing loose items, meteorologists write Twitter.

On Friday the wind will have died down and there will also be intermittent weather in some places in southern Norway, but on Saturday and Sunday there will be more rain in these parts of the country.

Also in western Norway it will be wet and windy, but in this part of the country the list of danger warnings is longer.

On Wednesday there is wind and a lot of rain in much of western Norway. Beginning Thursday, the wind will increase to a stiff or strong southeast gale.

Most of the wind will come to northern Norway. A yellow wind hazard warning has been issued in Lofoten, Ofoten, Vesterålen and Troms. Here the wind will increase in strength and gusts of between 27 and 35 meters per second can be expected.

One consolation for northern Norway is that the wind and rain will subside towards the weekend. While southern Norway can look forward to a rainy weekend, it will likely be pleasant weather in many northern places.
