The teammates of Omar Elabdellaoui (29) are affected after the Norwegian was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a fireworks accident.

– We need you, my brother, writes Galatasaray star Arda Turan on Instagram.

The message is addressed to Omar Elabdellaoui, who ended up in hospital after a fireworks accident in his own home on New Year’s Eve. Turan was one of the Galatasaray players who visited the Norwegian national team player in hospital on Friday.

– We need you to smile again, we need your will to fight, we need you to be a strong father to your family. Don’t forget that you believe in God. You will overcome this and everything will be better than before, writes the 33-year-old.

Galatasaray face Antalyaspor in the league on Saturday. Several of the players visited the vice captain of Norway in the hospital the night before the game. Martin Linnes, a teammate of the club and the national team, was among them.

Elabdellaoui’s teammates appear to be affected by the accident and send congratulations via social media.

– Be strong, my brother, writes goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

– I hope everything goes well for you, is the message from the Dutch Ryan Babel.

– I hope you recover soon, writes Vice Captain Ryan Donk.

Galatasaray has reported to the press outside the hospital throughout the day. Coach Fatih Terim is one of those who have been able to visit the Norwegian. He was excited when he talked about the meeting.

Elabdellaoui sustained injuries to his hand, face and eyes after the fireworks accident Thursday night.

They rushed him to the hospital, where he is being treated for burns to his face. He has also suffered eye injuries and it is not known how he is doing. It must have gotten worse beyond the left eye. According to the club’s president, Mustafa Cengiz, who has also visited Elabdellaoui, it may take between 1 and 2 weeks before knowing for sure how it will go.

Vedat Kaya, one of the doctors treating Elabdellaoui, tells TGRT Haber that new check-ups will take place on Saturday. They will be decisive for further treatment.

The club has strongly opposed an ambulance employee who shared a photo of Elabdellaoui on social media. They have announced that they will report the case.
