Warn Nordland – The old box is back

– We are incredibly excited about the way Norwegians receive the modern version of our nostalgic box. TINE is the first player in Norway to remove the renewable plastic cap, says Bjørn Malm, Tine’s head of sustainability, in a press release.

– In 2016, Tine was the first to produce milk cartons in 100% renewable material of plant origin. As a step forward in our ongoing work to reduce our climate footprint, our organic milk now comes in lighter, unbleached packages. It gives a greener cardboard box with an even lower carbon footprint than normal cardboard boxes, Malm continues.

Classic boxes with a “fold out and fold back” opening had a long life on Norwegian breakfast tables. The first edition arrived as early as 1959, but the box was presented to the Norwegian people on a large scale since the early 1980s.

– Tine’s milk carton is our faithful everyday hero. Every detail has been thought through, and so it is this time. Cork or non-cork has no effect on durability. As long as the carton is closed, the milk stays just as good, Malm emphasizes.

The modern version of the box that many people remember is also an improved version in terms of functionality. The open and close function has been perfected down to the smallest detail, says the company.
