US equity markets open the week higher after the United States has administered the first doses of vaccine.
US stock exchanges open the week higher, following in the footsteps of European stock exchanges and parts of the Asian market.
However, in the middle of the trading day, the increase was lower:
- The S&P 500 is up 0.15 percent
- The Dow Jones is up 0.1 percent
- Nasdaq rose 0.95 percent

Positive mood follows vaccine news. The United States granted emergency approval to the corona vaccine from Pfizer and Biontech, which is now shipped to vaccination centers across the country.
According to Reuters, New York state began administering the first doses of the vaccine to healthcare workers. The first dose is given to intensive care nurse Sandra Lindsay.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the vaccine this weekend. According to the New York Times, the decision allows for about 2.9 million doses to be dispensed over the next week.
The vaccine is rolling out at the same time as dismal new corona numbers are being reported in the United States. On Friday, more than 3,300 crown-related deaths were reported, and on Saturday, more than 2,300 deaths were recorded, writes CNBC.
In addition, a new proposal for a crisis package in the United States may be presented on Monday, Reuters reports. The $ 908 billion package will remedy the crown crisis, but so far there has been political disagreement over support measures.
Cruise and Airplane Upgrade
According to CNBC, more stocks are rising that will likely benefit more from the vaccine and financial support measures.
Cruise giant Carnival is up more than six percent, while American Airlines is up more than three percent.
In Europe, the overall market rose 0.6 percent, while stocks in China and Japan also finished positive.
