Wales closes society as a whole: the strictest restrictions in Europe

Wales is introducing a so-called “fire street closure”, with all nightclubs and most shops closing until November 9, the country’s authorities say.

Welsh people are told to stay home and are not allowed to meet people outside the home. There will also be bandages in public places and high schools will switch to online teaching.

Pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, hairdressers and all shops that do not sell food are closed. Samfunnshus, the library and the landfills will also be closed. Halloween and Bonfire Night will be canceled and will not be flagged.

Welsh authorities call the move a “block of fire”.

– Our intensive care units are already full. This is a short, sharp blow to turn back the clock, slow the virus and buy more time, Prime Minister Mark Drakeford told the BBC.

The restrictions are the strictest in Europe and will take effect from 18:00 local time on Friday.

In Wales, 3,870 new corona cases were recorded between October 10-16, but authorities are reporting large dark figures.
