Hege Øversveen smoked in Star Wars tonight. VG reviewed song by song.
Øversveen herself believes that it was fair that she smoked.
– Today the people were incredibly good and we have all done something that we cannot. I myself feel it’s fair, she says after it became clear that she had received the fewest votes in Saturday’s “all-star fight.”
She describes it as “incredibly uncomfortable” that she is not allowed to continue, but says she gave it her all.
– I went with everything today. It was absolutely terrifying, says Øversveen, who gets a four from the VG critic.
The worst grade was for rapper Myra.
– It wasn’t quite opera. You did the best you could, but you won’t be invading the opera stage for that, Judge Mona B. Riise said after her performance.
In previous years, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (KORK) has accompanied artists during the opera song, but this will not be the case this year. Instead, the stage is set for an opera show complete with costumes, plays, scenery, and props.
– There will be several challenges at the same time: both must sing well, be good at playing the role, move and know the dance steps, Kringlebotn told VG before Saturday’s show.
She says she’s impressed after Monday’s first singing lesson and thinks there are several hidden opera talents in this year’s group.
Read VG’s reviews of tonight’s songs, and roll your own dice, at the bottom of the box.
– Is the technology in place?
– It is very varied, laughs Kringlebotn. She believes that the key to a good opera performance is showing flexibility in your voice.
– You must be able to reach the high notes and bring the voice with power from the body. They are artists who are used to singing with a microphone, but in opera the muscles of the abdomen and back should make the body a kind of amplifier.
