The interior police district opened a case against the soccer profile after it emerged on Monday that Solbakken had broken its entry quarantine.

The national team coach was present at a football match in Hamar on Sunday and at the Ullevaal stadium in Oslo on Monday. Instead, he was to remain in quarantine.

– 20,000 fine accepted by me now by phone from police, Solbakken tells VG on Tuesday morning.

It was already clear on Monday that he would take whatever punishment might come.

Fines or prison

Solbakken’s quarantine period does not expire until Tuesday. The director of the national team has apologized for the breach of quarantine.

On Monday, the coach’s profile explained that he acted in good faith when he attended a soccer game in his hometown on Sunday. According to his own statement, Solbakken had made a miscalculation about when the quarantine period had ended.

The 52-year-old arrived in Norway from Copenhagen this morning last Saturday.

Violation of the quarantine obligation can be punished with fines of up to 20,000 crowns or imprisonment. On Solbakken’s part, the first thing was the result.

Own initiative

Municipal doctor Ketil Egge in Hamar announced to NTB on Monday that he would be contacting the football profile regarding the case. At the same time, he said that the municipal doctor so far in the pandemic had not denounced anyone for quarantine violations, nor will he now.

However, the Innlandet police opened a case against Solbakken on their own initiative.

According to the plan, Solbakken was to watch the elite series match between Vålerenga and Rosenborg on Monday night and also participate in the Eurosport television broadcast. Those plans were scrapped.

NTB was unable to obtain a comment from the Innlandet Police District on Tuesday.
