The Icelandic forward missed a penalty, but scored two goals.
SANDEFJORD – VÅLERENGA 0-3:
After three straight losses away from home, Fagermo’s team finally finished with a comfortable victory at Sandefjord on Sunday night.
Two goals from Icelandic forward Vidar Örn Kjartansson, and one from Aron Dønnum, sent the Oslo club home with three points in the bag.
As the teams went into halftime, commentator Asbjørn Myhre made it clear that Vålerenga will help the other teams at the top fight for silver and bronze.
– Vålerenga is serious about the fight for the medal, Myhre said then.

Pattern attack
Vålerenga opened the game better, and it cannot be said that it was undeserved when the capital team went ahead at 20 minutes.
A beautiful attacking play ended with Aron Dønnum playing Osame Sahraoui, who passed the ball to Henrik Bjørdal from the right. The 23-year-old found Kjartansson right in front of goal, who got an easy job scoring.

After the score, the home team got more into the deal and had several close chances. The teams still entered the break at 0-1 position.
Another Kjartansson score
Two minutes into the second half, referee Tommy Skjerven blew on the penalty spot after Bjørdal fell to the ground. However, Sandefjord goalkeeper Jacob Storevik made a solid save as he saved Kjartansson’s attempt.
Just after the time was played, Storevik again showed good goalkeeping qualities. Dønnum drew the ball from the right side and curled it into the opponent’s center, but once again the Sandefjord goalkeeper was in place and flipped the ball.
Midway through the second half, Storevik still couldn’t do much as Vålerenga doubled the lead. Dønnum got plenty of room and space when he hit points on the post in front of the box, and there an unmarked Kjartansson appeared, and doubled the lead.
Just before regulation time, Dønnum set the final score at 3-0 after a small chance of bonanza against the Sandefjord cage.
Thus, Vålerenga is fully involved in the medal match with nine rounds left of this year’s Elite Series season.
Sandefjord, on the other hand, is fighting harder and is currently ranked 13th, before traveling to Kristiansand and taking on Start in the next round.
