The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has bragged a lot about the “Operation Warp Speed” project. Warp Speed aimed to guarantee Americans access to a functional corona vaccine as soon as possible.
It has worked. Pfizer’s corona vaccine is now approved for use in both the US and the EU, and the Moderna vaccine is also expected to be approved for use in the US before the end of the year.
Vaccination of the American population is underway, and on Monday night Norwegian time, incoming President Joe Biden received the first of two syringes to protect himself against the coronavirus.

Biden took the vaccine on live television and thanked everyone who had contributed to the development of the vaccine, and especially the healthcare workers.
– We owe a lot to these people. Both the researchers and the people who have made us do this, Biden says.
But perhaps the most unexpected thing was that Biden gave Donald Trump a touch of praise.
– Another thing is that I think the government deserves some praise, for this to start, and especially the “Warp Speed” operation, said the incoming president.
Approved in Norway
The Pfizer vaccine, which Biden received, has also been approved today for use in the EU and Norway.
It was first the European Medicines Agency (EMA) that recommended approval, before the European Commission formally approved the vaccine a few hours later.
Thus, everything is ready for the first vaccines to arrive in Norway this Christmas, and the first Norwegians can be vaccinated.
