USA, Coronary Vaccine | It comes with a guarantee for the American population: – By then, everyone who wants will be vaccinated

The “Operation Warp Speed” top is safe in its case.

The Trump administration introduced the “Operation Warp Speed” vaccine program in May of this year. The objective of the program is quite clear. It’s securing 300 million doses of coronary vaccines in a much shorter time than normal, so that all Americans have the opportunity to receive a coronary vaccine, if they so choose. According to the United States health authorities, the plan is to receive the first doses during January 2021.

The American drug manufacturer Moderna has received large sums of money due to “Operation Warp Speed”, and on Monday, November 30, it requested immediate approval of its coronary vaccine in the United States. That request will be discussed on Dec. 17, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

– 100 percent

This has led to optimism in the United States, with a peak of “Operation Warp Speed” recently coming with a guarantee of around 330 million Americans.

– 100 percent of all Americans who want to receive a coronary vaccine will have received the vaccine in June 2021. We will have more than 300 million doses long before that, was the indirect message to Paul Ostrowski, in an interview with MSNBC.

Ostrowski, a former U.S. Army lieutenant general, heads the department responsible for distributing the vaccine. Donald Trump has previously said how important the role of the military will be in this area, as it will be their role to distribute the vaccine as quickly as possible and in the best possible way.

It was not specified in the interview whether there is only one dose of the vaccine or both doses. The process itself is believed to take around six weeks, with a monthly interval from the first to the second dose, then two weeks to make sure the antibodies have developed in the body, writes the marketwatch website.

Trump takes his share of the credit

When news of the Pfizer vaccine, which will have a 90 percent protection rate, broke in mid-November, US President Donald Trump was quick to claim that the vaccine had been created because of “Operation Warp Speed ”.

– Leaders from various countries have called us and congratulated us for what we have achieved. I want to congratulate everyone who has been involved in this, it has been a fantastic effort, says Trump. Through Warp Speed, we do it in one year. If I had another administration, this would have taken three, four or five years in my opinion, Trump said.

Pfizer, for its part, has made it clear that they were not part of “Operation Warp Speed”, but that made Trump react.

– Pfizer says they weren’t part of “Operation Warp Speed”, but they are. It was a regrettable statement, the current US president said, just days after the presidential election.

I hope to start the new year

Norway, for its part, is dependent on the EU, and the EU has so far entered into agreements with five different vaccine manufacturers, and Norway is covered by these agreements.

– There is hope that the EU pharmaceutical authorities may approve one or more vaccines during the year. This means that hopefully we can start vaccinating priority groups from 2021, Prime Minister Erna Solberg said at a press conference in late November.

This happens when coronary vaccines arrive in Norway

* Norway receives covid-19 vaccines through the joint EU scheme and plans to buy different types, depending on which ones are approved in the EU and what effect they have on different population groups. The government decides what to buy and the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is responsible for the purchase.

* In the first few weeks, deliveries will likely be small and therefore there will be a strict prioritization of who will get vaccinated first. A committee of experts has proposed that risk groups, health personnel and other people with critical social functions be first in line. The final decision will be made by the government in December.

* Vaccination will be free and voluntary for Norwegians. In principle, children should not be vaccinated. As a larger proportion of the population is vaccinated, the pandemic will gradually decrease.

* The municipalities and hospitals carry out the vaccination. They already have experience with many vaccines from the annual flu shots and planning is already underway.

* In some municipalities, GPs carry out vaccination, while in others separate vaccination rooms may be established.

* The first doses of the vaccine may arrive in early January. First, they will probably arrive at the central warehouse of FHI and then they will be sent to the municipalities. It may also be the case that vaccines are shipped directly from providers to municipalities.

Vaccines approved in Europe have already been tested in between 20,000 and 50,000 people. So far, no serious side effects have been detected, but some rare side effects can only be detected after a while and when the vaccine is given to more people. Therefore, the Norwegian Medicines Agency and the National Institute of Public Health will closely monitor for possible side effects.

* The government has proposed to reserve NOK 3.77 billion for the purchase of vaccines against covid-19 and vaccination in the state budget for next year.

It was also guaranteed that a coronary vaccine will be voluntary and free for all Norwegians who want to be vaccinated.

– In October, the government decided that vaccination against covid-19 should be offered through the national vaccination program and that it should be free to get vaccinated, the Prime Minister said.

Who should get vaccinated first?

However, what is not yet decided is which groups of Norwegians will receive a vaccine first. Unlike a country like the United States, the process in Norway will be much slower. So a while ago, a committee of experts, appointed by the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH), was appointed to make a recommendation on who should be prioritized first in the queue.

The expert committee operates with four different scenarios. The first describes a situation in which the authorities largely control the spread of the infection. So people at risk, the elderly and the sick should be first in line. The same applies if there are outbreaks in clusters and when there is only partial control.

If, on the other hand, the scenario is about a generalized infection where there is no control, healthcare workers should be vaccinated first, the committee recommends. Then they go into risk and people in critical social roles. The recommendations are based both on a set of values, such as equality and well-being, and on five ranked goals, where reducing the risk of death and serious illness are the first two.

– The most important thing, in my view, is that what should count is equality and equal treatment, not social status. And there is the risk of death and serious illness, which should be the guiding principle, committee member Reidun Førde told NRK.

Regardless, the government has the last word and is expected to present the final vaccination strategy in early December.
