Trump advocates in the state have demanded that the Supreme Court reject the 2.5 million early votes or that the state assembly appoint electoral delegates regardless of the election outcome.

It is these electoral delegates who will vote who won the elections, it happens on December 14. Pennsylvania has 20 delegates to vote and they all go to the winner. Joe Biden received 80,000 more votes than Donald Trump.

Even without the 20 delegates from Pennsylvania, Biden will have enough votes to be declared president.

CNN writes that the US Supreme Court ruling has not been signed, it is unclear whether there was dissent among the justices.

When it became clear that the crown pandemic could scare many voters out of voting, the Pennsylvania State Assembly decided to expand the possibilities for early voting. Republicans have a majority in this House.

After Donald Trump attacked the possibility of voting by mail, many Republicans may have changed their minds. The tally showed that three out of four postal votes went to Biden, writes The Hill.

In November, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court dismissed the lawsuit, arguing that the plaintiffs should have reacted when the rules were changed. Thus, Trump supporters appealed to the federal Supreme Court in Washington DC.

Last Thursday, Trump said he expected the Supreme Court to step in and change the outcome of the election. He himself has appointed three of the nine judges.

CNN writes that the justices may have issued their ruling so quickly to send a clear signal to those who question the outcome of the election.

But in the lower courts, several justices who can thank Trump and other Republican presidents for the work have rejected their complaints.

Don’t believe in change

On Tuesday, Politico released an opinion poll showing that 70 percent of voters do not believe the election result will be changed.

But 11 percent believe that it is highly likely that Trump will eventually stand as the winner of the election. Also, 8 percent think it is “slightly likely.”

As Trump’s lawyers are ridiculed by the judges who hear their cases, and not least in the media, the proportion who believe that Trump will be the winner of the election has decreased.
