US Presidential Elections: – Only These Can Persuade Trump

Virtually everyone has congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the US presidential election, but there is still one man in the White House who refuses to face defeat.

Norwegian US experts doubt that US President Donald Trump will ever admit that he lost the election, but at the same time they believe that Trump be resign as president, albeit reluctantly, when the time comes.

The question is who can finally convince the 45th President of the United States to give way to the 46th President of the United States.

Short list

The list of people with influence over the unpredictable president of the United States has been short since Trump was elected in 2016.

The list has long been something of a draft, the result of record replacements in the Trump administration.

The list gets even shorter if you remove the names that have always been, and will likely always remain, according to Trump.

The question, therefore, is who in Trump’s sphere has enough influence over the president to speak out against him and emerge unscathed.

And that list is short.

Three names

Regardless of each other, two Norwegian-American experts have highlighted three code names for Dagbladet.

These are:

  • Ivanka Trump, the president’s first-born daughter.
  • Jared Kushner – Ivanka’s husband and the president’s son-in-law.
  • Lindsey Graham: a Republican senator.

There is a particular reason for this, according to American expert Anders Romarheim, a researcher at the Department of Defense Studies (IFS), part of the Norwegian Defense College (FHS).

– Trump’s frequent replacements in his close political circle mean that people hardly have time to build a proper relationship with him before ending. Everyone sees at the same time how quickly you disappear if you end up disagreeing with Trump, but there are some who cannot be fired by Trump. It’s Senator Graham, son-in-law Kushner and daughter Ivanka, Romarheim tells Dagbladet.

“External advisory group”

Mjelde agrees with Romarheim’s assessment, but highlights a few more people after being asked who in Trump’s sphere has influence over the president.

Three groups stand out:

  • Some select Republicans.
  • The close family.
  • External advisors.

Among the Republicans selected, Mjelde believes that Graham has a prominent place. In the family, the investigator mentions the aforementioned Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, in addition to his wife Melania Trump and the other Trump children.

But in the third group, which Mjelde describes as Trump’s “external advisory group,” there are no advisers to expensive consulting firms, but rather several Fox News anchors and a former top Republican politician:

  • Laura Ingraham – Fox News anchor.
  • Tucker Carlson, director of programming for Fox News.
  • Newt Gingrich – Former Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“He is going to resign reluctantly”

When asked if anyone can get Donald Trump to admit defeat, IFS investigator Romarheim responds briefly and in cash:

– No, nobody.

Norce’s researcher Mjelde completely agrees.

– Trump will reluctantly resign, but will never, ever agree that he lost. It is not natural for him that he, Donald Trump, could be defeated, says Mjelde.

But when asked who can make Trump give in, albeit reluctantly, Romarheim points to one person in particular.

– I think Ivanka can do that, says Romarheim.

Such persuasion is unlikely to come without major concessions, believes the American expert.

This is how you can be persuaded

And persuasion has to happen on Trump’s terms and according to Trump’s perception of reality.

– In his own book, Trump is not a loser and he never loses anything. Those who are going to convince him that he should give up the fight for the presidency have to make that assumption, says Romarheim.

The American insider emphasizes that the unpredictability now is “huge”, but describes a scenario that he thinks may be relevant in the future:

– Trump is now taking all possible legal steps to reverse the election result. He is convinced that this election was rigged against him, and always will be. The question is what happens when the legal go to one last race. So the Trump family council, led by Jared and Ivanka, can penetrate Trump with the following argument: “You are right, but this fight against a corrupt system is not worth continuing,” says Romarheim.

You might think Lindsay Graham, the Republican senator, would do the same, Romarheim believes.

– He is the only one in the establishment we know that Trump consults regularly on policy. He has the president’s ear and can promote the exact same narrative as Trump’s family council, says Romarheim.
