– Unemployment continues to decline also in September and, once again, is mainly due to the decrease in the number of laid off workers. This month, unemployment is declining in all counties and for the vast majority of occupational groups, says Director of Labor and Social Welfare Hans Christian Holte.

At the end of September, a total of 197.00 people who were totally or partially unemployed or looking for work were registered in the Nav measures. This constitutes seven percent of the workforce, 18,500 less than at the end of August.

Handelsbanken notes in an update on Twitter that unemployment fell further in September. The figures came in as expected from both them and Norges Bank.

DNB Markets writes that the improvement in the job market continues. Meglerhuset points out that there are now “only” 25,600 laid off employees among the completely unemployed.

Unemployment has increased dramatically since March this year and continued to rise for several months.
