Uli Hoeness, Thiago Alcantara | Uli Hoeness rages against Thiago’s hunt for the PL giants:

Both Liverpool and Manchester United should be interested in Thiago Alcantara. Hoeness shouldn’t be impressed with the way the great English teams go about securing the star player.

Thiago has been linked to Liverpool for a long time, and the red shirt seems to be the team that comes closest to signing the Spanish, if there is a transfer away from Bayern Munich.

In an interview with the German television channel Sport1, reproduced by Goal, Uli Hoeness reveals that Manchester United also want Thiago, and that both Liverpool and United have their way of moving forward to reach an agreement.

– They are lying

– It is a difficult situation. Some time ago we agreed to a four-year contract, but a few days later he (Thiago) said: “I’m looking for a new challenge,” says Hoeness before continuing.

– I think he obviously has a deal with Liverpool or Manchester United, or both. Now both teams are bragging and no one has officially contacted Bayern Munich.

– The way I see it, there’s no way to do it. They’re trying to blackmail us, waiting until the last week, when they come up with a cheap offer, go on.

The man who resigned as Bayern Munich president in 2019 believes the former club now has two options.

Bayern must ask themselves if they want to agree or if they should tell the player that they should stay.

Comes with warning

Additionally, Hoeness talks about what may seem like a relatively new approach to insuring players, which he doesn’t seem to be that much of a fan of.

– A new way forward is developing, even among the biggest clubs, which until now I was not aware of.

Transition guru Fabrizio Romano also recently tweeted about Hoeness’s comments, and appears to support the German’s remarks.

– That is exactly what Bayern feels. Manchester United spoke with their agents, Liverpool still feel favorites to sign Thiago due to pressure from Klopp. But it has not yet been an official offer, they are waiting the last days of the transition market to get it at a price below 30 million pounds.
