– The two people have been picked up by the rescue helicopter. The health status is unknown, says the rescue manager at the Main Rescue Center (HRS), Eirik Walle.
People are transported to Haukeland University Hospital for further treatment.
Capsized boat
It was around 11.15 am when the police were notified of what they described as a drowning accident at the Eigerøy lighthouse in Eigersund municipality.
A boat with two people on board must have capsized something inside Eigerøy, by Noragapet.
Then all the rescue resources were sent to the site.
– We have been informed that people are related to the ship, says Police Operations Director Toralv Skårland.
At 11:35 a.m., HRS reported that the rescue team was at the scene and that two people had been located in the water.
Witnesses are served
People in another boat in the area arrived at the scene of the accident and were involved in rescue work.
– They are cared for by health personnel, reports the Main Rescue Center.
Emergency services and the Main Rescue Center are now cleaning up the site.
